お客様のおもてなしに、今すぐ使える実践的な英語を音声つきで紹介していきます。

今回は、交通機関での応対の場面から。音声を再生して、聞こえた通りに声に出して発音練習してみましょう。

A: Where would you like to go?

B: How can I get to Asakusa?

A: Take the Ginza Line from Platform 2. It’s 15 minutes.

日本語訳

A: どちらへ行かれますか。

B: 浅草へはどう行けばいいですか。

A: 銀座線の2番ホームからです。約15分です。

☑️解説

1) How can I get to ~ ?

• 意味：「〜へはどう行けばいいですか？」行き方をたずねる定番表現。

• 使い方：場所名を入れるだけ。丁寧にしたければ Could you tell me… を前に付ける。

• 例文

How can I get to Asakusa (from here)?

How can I get to Asakusa by train?（電車だとどう行く？）

◉ポイント

to を忘れない：✗ How can I get Asakusa? → ○ …get to Asakusa?

ほぼ同義：How do I get to ~ ? / What’s the best way to ~ ?

2) take the ~ Line

• 意味：電車・地下鉄などの「〜線に乗る」。

• 使い方：路線名を入れる。路線名は大文字、前に the を付けるのが自然。

• 例文

Take the Ginza Line.（銀座線に乗ってください。）

Transfer to the Asakusa Line at Nihombashi.（日本橋で浅草線に乗り換え。）

◉ポイント

“乗る”は take が基本（bus/taxi/train などで広く使える）。

代わりに get on the Ginza Line でも可。

3) Platform 2

• 意味：「2番ホーム（2番線）」

• 使い方：出発場所を示すときは from Platform 2、場所を指すだけなら at Platform 2。

• 例文

Take the Ginza Line from Platform 2.

The train to Shibuya leaves from Platform 2.

◉ポイント

アメリカ系表記では Track 2 と書かれることも。

Gate は空港の搭乗口、Line は路線名なので混同しない。
