１、looking for

• 意味：〜を探している。be + looking for + 名詞。

• 使い方：人・物を探す状況の確認／説明。

• 例文

Are you looking for someone?（どなたかお探しですか？）

I’m looking for my son. He’s five years old.（5歳の息子を探しています。）

What are you looking for?（何をお探しですか？）

• 置き換え：searching for（やや硬い）／trying to find（口語）。

• メモ：「探し物は？」の定番接客は “Can I help you find something?”

２、make an announcement

• 意味：アナウンスする／館内放送を流す。

• 使い方：PA（館内放送）で呼び出しや案内を行うとき。

• 例文

I’ll make an announcement.（館内放送をします。）

We’ll make an announcement over the PA system.（PAで放送します。）

An announcement has been made for the guardian.（保護者の方への呼び出しを行いました。）

• 置き換え：put out a (public) announcement／page someone（米口語：呼び出す）。

• メモ：館内放送＝“PA system / public address system”。「呼び出す」は “page” が実務でよく使われる。

３、information desk

• 意味：案内所／インフォメーションカウンター。

• 使い方：待機場所や問い合わせ先の指示。

• 例文

Please wait at the information desk.（インフォメーションでお待ちください。）

You can ask at the information desk.（案内所でお尋ねください。）

The information desk is on the first floor.（1階にあります。）

• 置き換え：information counter / help desk / customer service desk。

• メモ：商業施設は “information desk”、ホテルなら “concierge desk” が自然。
